3ARC PanicButton Delivers New Benefits In Personal Tracking and Security

PanicButton™ combines mobile telephony with GPS tracking in a waterproof armband, which requires only a single squeeze to summon help via a 24x 7 control centre … with location accuracies to within 5 metres. This makes it suitable for a wide range of health, safety, well-being or resource management applications.

Who needs a PanicButton?

The 3ARC PanicButton has been developed to aid compliance with new Health & Safety legislation, in lone worker situations. Interested commercial and private users include:

Professional lone workers (estate agents, medical & social services).
Land / air / sea rescue services (the 3ARC PanicButton is waterproof).
Security professionals, military & covert operatives (can be worn beneath clothing).
Adventure sportspeople (climbers, runners, cyclists, sailors, pilots and horse riders).
Elderly and disabled people (for example, the PanicButton can be configured to notify a supervisor or carer whenever an Alzheimer sufferer moves beyond an agreed boundary).

The PanicButton and its back-up service can provide priceless reassurance to employers and families, for round-the-clock care and safety monitoring.

How the PanicButton works:

The 3ARC PanicButton is designed to function as a duress alarm, so it is made to the very highest quality standards and is simple to use. There is only one button to squeeze.

When the PanicButton is removed from its charging port, it vibrates to confirm sufficient charge and immediately communicates with the 3ARC computer network. After acquiring a first satellite fix, the 3ARC servers update every few minutes to provide a historical trace of the wearer’s movements. The update intervals can be adjusted through an ordinary Internet browser interface (a mountaineer usually moves more s lowly than a glider pilot, for example). Depending upon the application, the battery life could be 12 to 96 hours between charges.

Whenever a wearer needs help, the PanicButton provides completely instinctive operation …with no fiddly dialing functions or other features that might cause confusion. The 3ARC PanicButton only needs one squeeze on a single “nipple” that is easily felt (yet remains unseen) through the wearer wearer’s clothing.

That single squeeze creates a GSM duress call to the 3ARC 24 24-hour control centre, initiating an agreed incident management procedure. At the same time, the GPS automatically switches to continuous monitoring, for maximum accuracy. Specially trained 3ARC controllers will be alerted immediately, with audible warnings and priority screen pops (showing wearer details, such as any relevant medical history). Together with the wearer’s current location information, the controller can make a professional evaluation and immediately organise the most appropriate response. Meanwhile, all voice traffic is auto automatically recorded and the PanicButton wearer will receive a reassuring vibration signal, for valuable confirmation that action is being taken.

The agreed procedures for each wearer can also include secondary alerts to next of kin or employers, for example. Fully detailed activity reports (including all voice recordings) will remain available online for post-event analysis.
